7th grade took advantage of the warm weather before the big chill to go on a scavenger hunt while learning about scale and proportion.
The Utopia ISD gym will be open Sunday, February 6th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM for all students.
The varsity basketball games scheduled to be played Friday, February 4, 2022 have been rescheduled to be played on Monday, February 7, 2022. Varsity girls will begin at 4:00 PM. The varsity boys game will begin immediately following the varsity girls. There will not be a JV boys game.
Utopia ISD officials have been closely monitoring the weather forecast, as well as consulting with local officials and neighboring school districts. The predicted forecast continues to show below freezing temperatures and dangerous road conditions through tomorrow afternoon. Due to these factors, and for the safety of our students, parents and staff, all Utopia ISD classes and activities are cancelled and all offices will be closed on we will remain closed on Friday, February 4, 2022.
The students, parents, staff, and the community will be notified as soon as the coaches and other sponsors reschedule competitions.
There are several options concerning how or if class time will need to be made up. That and other decisions will be made by the Utopia ISD School Board at the regularly held board meeting on Monday, February 14, 2022.
Officials at Utopia ISD are monitoring the weather conditions for the next few days. In the event school must be cancelled or delayed due to inclement weather, public notifications will be sent through the Utopia ISD Website, Utopia ISD Facebook page, and the Utopia text, email, and voice call notification system.

High School basketball games tonight will begin at 6:00 PM in Nueces Canyon. There will be only two games, Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys. This is change from the original schedule.

5th grade conducted the running man experiment: Write on a smooth surface with an Expo marker; then slowly add water. The shape lifts and floats and moves the water. If you draw a stick figure, it will appear to be running.
